Tet during COVID time in the USA is definitely different than all the other years. But Vietnam have it even worse right about now, as they experience a major lock down in big cities. So the big Tet holiday this year is not so grand like all the other years.
This is my first year as a youtuber for Tet, and it taught me a big lesson in preparing the video weeks ahead of time. My plan was to make a recipe video on how to make banh tet and banh chung; Vietnamese traditional tet sticky rice rolls. But I hurt my ankle a couple days before and couldn\’t follow through. No worries, I did manage to record a few things that I manage to do during this time.
The Vietnamese Tet tradition is a lot to remember. My mom still carries on this tet tradition here in America, and hopefully I learn from her to carry on the tradition. Though it is sad to think of what will happen next after my generation…
